Jamie is a global consultant in the field of functional surface technologies including thermal spray coating, laser cladding, PVD and photocatalytic coatings. Nick is currently working with a number of companies helping them to deliver business growth, meet ambitious decarbonisation targets, and manage large CapEx projects from concept through to delivery.
Nick draws on his experience from a career with Pilkington, where he held senior management positions, culminating in that of Group Head of Engineering, before which he was Group Sustainability Director. He also led the creation of the Solar Energy Business which supplied technical glass substrates to solar panel manufacturers worldwide and had P&L responsibility for businesses up to £500M turnover.
Nick is a Chartered Engineer and studied General Management at Columbia Business School in New York. He also holds a postgraduate Sustainability qualification from Cambridge University. He has been Chairman of Waterside Training, a respected provider of apprenticeships and technical training, for 16 years, and has just completed a 9 year period as Governor for St Helens College, where he was lead Governor for health & safety, and focused on finance, sustainability and governance.
Boris is an experienced investment banker, investor, entrepreneur, company director and mentor with over three decades in international business. He currently divides his time between working as an adviser to the Cabinet Office, where as a Crown Representative he has specific responsibility for Deloitte, Amey and Kier as strategic suppliers to the government, and his passion for supporting smaller organisations with a desire to grow. He combines a wealth of strategic experience at senior board level with his hands-on Investment and business growth expertise to help companies expand into national and international markets as well as getting many passed the crucial “zero to one” stage.
An Oxford graduate, Boris has also shared his knowledge as a Professor of Practice and has lectured in Financial Management, Managerial Accounting and International Business at the Jack Welch School of Business and the United Business Institute in Luxembourg.
He is currently helping start-up technology businesses expand into the UK working with the founders to gain traction and secure additional finance, enabling rapid scale-up. His background in investment banking - Lehman Brothers, Paribas and Nomura - has given him a particular interest in business models and helping to adjust and refine these to reflect the ever-changing market place.
